PRINCE PHILLIPS FIRST FOAL LATONIA, Ky., June 28. Rush McCoy, manager of S. P. Velies Blue Springs Stock Farm in Missouri, arrived Friday morning to witness the Latonia Derby. Mr. McCoy announced that he is having rare good fortune with Mr. "Velies breeding stock this season. Sixteen foals have thus far arrived at the farm this year, eight being by Assagai and the remainder by Prince Phillip, the English stallion, which Mr. Velie imported early in January, last year. The foals by Prince Phillip are his first get and most of them are dark gray, the color of their sire. Among the mares on the farm that have foaled are : Lady Teresa, the dam of Penthorn and Fairy Star, dam of Aster. Mr. "Velie Intends sending his yearlings to the Saratoga August sales.
