Start good and slow for all but Quotation. Won driving; second and third the same. LORETTA BROOKS, close up from the start, began racing- to the leaders after five-eighths and, finishing fast, passed HELEN CARTER and outfinished SUSAN REBECCA in the final drive. SUSAN REBECCA was forced to race wide on the turns, but ran well and finished gamely. HELEN CARTER set a .good pace and raved MANDOLETTE into defeat after going a half mile, but tired in the last eighth. MANDOLETTE began tiring after showing much speed for a half mile. QUOTATION, practically left at the post, closed an immense gap. MARY CARR suffered from interference from the winner when racing forwardly. CHARLIE BERGIN was hard ridden from the start, saved ground on the stretch turn and gamely outfinished DUFFS TIME in the final drive. DUFFS TIME, away well, suffered from lack of racing room in the early running, but finished fast and resolutely when clear. EVERLASTING closed a big gap and finished best of all. KEITH raced prominently all the way. BIG CHIEF had no mishaps. OLD FELLOW began slowly. COLD HANDLE began sluggishly and was badly outrun. BRA YB RANT was done after going three-eighths. MALLY JANE began fast, but was crowded back in the first quarter, then saved ground when entering the stretch ami finished fast. GENIAL HOST raced in good form and finished gamely. FORBEARANCE raced close up from the start and was jammed when driven between FUSILEER and DUCKWEED on the stretch turn, but finished gamely. FUSILEER saved ground on the turns and was going well at the end. DUCKWEED raced closer up than usual in the early running and raced well in the final drive. EQUITY showed early speed. ROYAL JULIAN came with a rnsh aronnd the last two turns and outfiuished BEWITHUS in the last stride. The latter, away slowly and permitted to drop far back, came with a rush in the last three-eighths and was going fast at the end. PERCUSSION had no mishaps and began tiring badly near tta end.
