f FAIRMOUNT TURF NOTES COLLINSVILLE, 111., June 28. An auction sale of horses will be held in the paddock Friday at noon, the principal consigners being C. Graffagnini, L. Jones and Harned Brothers. M. O. McDowell will act as auctioneer. George Walker reports the death by influenza, of Lord Minta, two-year-old colt by Eternal Lady Minta, owned by J. T. Archibald. The colt died, late yesterday after a short illness. He was considered by many the best youngster on the grounds and considered by" Mr. Walker the best he has had in twenty-five years. The colt recently worked a half in :4S, which is nearly as fast as horses run on this track. Al Kirby sold The Captain to C. Irby at private sale, and R. F. Grandy purchased R. E. Clark from S. W. Grant. Indianapolis, Shasta Pope and Wood Cricket have been taken off the schooling list and The Badger, Brumina, Twinkling. Shasta Flapper, Kenetta, My Sister, Buz Fuz and Brown Silk have been added by Starter William Snyder. The horses Fire Boy and. Clique, owned by Mrs. W. L. Brodie, and trained by W. L. Brodie, have been shipped to Windsor. Ont, to be raced at the meeting held at that point Jockey C. S. Phillips made his departure with the Brodies for that pointt also. E. McCuan, represented In the seventh race by Buck, claimed Brown Silk from C. Irby at a cost of ,500. Jockey R. Wholey, who was astride Candy Rock, the favorite in the third race, was the recipient of a three-day suspension by starter I Snyder for incompetent riding of his mount when leaving the barrier. II. T. Archibald lost the three-year-old colt Candy Rock to the H. E. Brown Stock Farm, when II. E. Brown claimed Candy Rock out of the third race for ,500. Brown had Swizzle representing him In the race.
