May 9— Some of the Preakness and Kentucky Derby candidates were out Tuesday morning and the following were the best moves shown ; Brooms, one and one-eighth miles, :23%; :35% : :49% ; 1:01%; 1:14%; 1:27%; 1:41%; 1:55%. Batteau worked one and one-quarter miles with Edith Cavell as follows: :23% ; :35% ; :48; 1:01%; 1:14%; 1:27%; 1 :40% ; 1:54%; 2:07%. Vito and Sortie worked the distance in :25 : :51 ; 1:17; 1:45% and pulled up the mile and one-quarter in 2:12%.
