At Aurora One Best Bet — SENATOR SETH — In the Fifth Race. , Thursdays program at the Aurora track is ] made up of claiming races, platers having I their say in all of the contests. The fields entered, however, are rather evenly matched, I and some hard fought contests are expected. The fifth race brings the best field to the : post for a contest over the three-quarters distance. The Jones Stock Farms Senator Seth looks much the best of this band and he hr.s but to repeat his last race to make it two wins in a row. Two-year-old maidens will parade to the post in the fourth race, with Leading Lady getting the call to get out of the maiden ■ ranks. She may have to race at her best, however, for Fuss and Mildred Wood figure to give her plenty of opposition. CO EOIX— P. T. n.VRMM-LITTLE COOK. The first race on the program brings to the post a large field of ordinary platers to try conclusions over the five and a half furlongs distance. GO FOIN has been showing signs of turning in a winning race and this may be the spot. The field entered against him are of his own caliber and he should be able to hand them a sound beating if he races at Ma best form. P. T. BABNUM may be the one to fill the two-hole, should he show some of the form he displayed at Havana during the winter months. LITTLE COOK will be making his first start in some time, but he has to be given the call over the rest of the field for the show money on the strength of some fast morning gallops. MONASTERY— ALICE LANG— II9BUKO SETH. Another limit field is entered in the second race, which also calls for a dash over the five and a half furlongs distance. The old gelding MONASTERY may be the one to get home first. He will be making his debut at this track and we look for it to be a winning one, for the dockers tell us that the gelding has lest none of his old time form and that he is ready to bang down in front. ALICE LANG, which is owned and trained by the veteran Tom Cheek, may be the one to give MONASTERY the most argument. The mare gets in with a light impost and this should help her in proving a dangerous contender. MEDDLING SETH may prove best of the rest of the field for the short end of the purse. BASH A— DARK ANGEL— SUPPORTER. The third race also may bring a limit field to the post, with Tom Cheeks BASHA getting the call for the major portion of the purse. The gelding raced consistently . at Havana the past winter, finishing in the money in his last seven trips to the post. A race in his best style today should find him out in front when the finish is reached. DARK ANGEL figures next best and, though we doubt if she can take the measure of ] I I : ■ BASHA, she should prove dangerous. SUPPORTER raced well enough in his two starts over this track to warrant him a good chance for the short end of the purse. BOCARATONE, on his Havana races, has to be given a chance to get in the picture. LEADING LADY— FUSS— MILDRED WOOD. LEADING LADY looks the best of the band of maiden two-year-olds which will hook up in the fourth contest. She showed she was not far off from winning form in her last race, it being a good second to Robina Seth. She needs to improve but slightly over that effort to get out of the non-winners ranks today. Her light impost should also help her in accomplishing her task. FUSS was the one to follow LEADING LADY home in the meeting the other day and he may be the one to cause her the most trouble again. MILDRED WOOD figures to be well up when the finish is reached for she showed an improved effort the last time out. SENATOR SETH— SANDY HATCH-MISS ROSEDALE. The best bet of the day appears in the fifth race in the Jones Stock Farm Stables racer SENATOR SETH. The gelding was returned an easy winner in his first start here and, as he is getting eleven pounds off that race, we look for him to prove a repeater here in turning in another easy win. SANDY HATCH may be the one to follow SENATOR SETH over the finish line. The gelding is a good sprinter and, when In a running mood, is always dangerous. He is asked to carry six pounds more than SENATOR SETH and this may stop him from turning the tables on the Seth gelding. MTSS ROSE-DALE, though she will be making her first start of the year, figuns to be ab.e to fill the three-hole. TORCHER— OSEDA— SAMARON. E. E. Majors TORCHER is long overdue for a winning race and this looks like a good spot for him to get down in front. The field which will oppose him are horses of his own class and, though he is asked to carry top weight, we think he can take their measure. OSEDA, on her last good effort, figures as the most probable contender TORCHER will have to beat to make victory certain. The Joliet Stables SAMARON comes up from Lexington with one good race to his credit in two starts there. Should he be able to turn in another good effort like he did at Lexington the short end of the purse should be his. ADIEU— FLORENDA— RABBLING. In the last race we are selecting ADIEU as the probable winner. The mare has been knocking at the door in her past races and she needs but to show a slight improvement over those efforts to be the one to take down the major portion of this purse. FLORENDA tired at the end of her last race, but, as the distance today is a sixteenth shorter, she may be able to finish up with the leaders. BABBLING has been training well and her workouts indicate that she is ready for one of her good races.
