ARLINGTON STAKE EVENTS Wonderful Response of Entries to ! Feature Races Arranged for Arlington Park. Maj. Frederic McLaughlin, president of the American National Jockey Club, and Frank J. Bruen. general manager, gratified over the number of entries to feature events to be decided on the course at Arlington Park, make the announcement that in the history of American racing there has never been a time when turfmen have responded so generously nor has there ever been representation of such surpassing class. In five fixtures to be run at the spring meeting, beginning June 4, ending June 30, the nominations total 817. The Premier Handicap has 121 ; American Derby, 148 ; American Juvenile. 295 ; American National Rush Handicap, 115 ; American National Turf and Field Handicap, 138. The combined added money value is 2,500. In the American National Futurity, to be run during the fall meeting, September 8," the number of nominations are 358 to date, largest in the history of two-year-old races embracing these conditions. The American National Futurity is unique by reason of its conditions. It is due to this consideration of possibilities that turfmen find themselves beneficiaries of a policy designed to give belated racing prospects an equal chance. It is provided that nominations made prior to March 1 shall entail a subscription cost of ?20. If, between June 1 and June 15. it is desired to make an additional nomination, the cost shall be 00. All starters are t pay 50 additional, with 5,000 added, of which ,000 to second, ,500 to third. 00 to fourth and the fifth to save its entrance and staiting fees. The usual penalties accrue in cases of winners of a certain number of races and allowances are made to non-winners and maidens. The distance of this race is three-quarters.
