"FALSE START" AND RUNOVER LONDON, England, May 8. An unusral incident occurred in connection with the Irvine Town Handicap at Bogside April 19. A false start occurred and the field was recalled, but Niloak, Star of Africa, Mocking Bird, and Aunt Eve galloped t.ie full course at racing pace, finishing in th order named. According to rule, the race was ordered to be re-run, bit the four horses that had finished the first time did not return to the post. Nuntoi won by three lengths from Fair Dinkuin, with Illustration, the same distance away, third. The original S. P. stands, however, the Rules of Belting being very clear: "Bets in favor of any horse which started on the first occasion, but Jid not go to the post on the second occasion — in the case of a race being ordered to be re-run — are lost, the prices current at the original start to rule."
