FOREIGN TURF NOTES ♦ — $ By winning the Champagne Stakes at the A. J. C. autumn meeting, Mollison set a record for a two-year-old in Australia. He now has to his credit seven wins in as many starts and has won ,740. Of the eleven starters In the Champagne Stake*, but two of them paid less than 25-1 ; Mollison started favorite at 2-1. With wind and occasional showers, says the Sydney Referee, the concluding day of the A. J. C. autumn meeting brought an attendance of 45,000, which was as large as could be expected, and the totalisator turnover was 07,285. The attendance for the first three days was 51,000, 77,000 and 3G.000 respectively. To stakes run during the four days the A. J. C. added 17,500. Sir Samuel Hordern has decided Pillie-winkie, by Winkie — Waterspray, is not to race again, and he is to be sent to Pctwyn Vale, where he will be used as a hack by the stud groom. Pilliewinkie, during his six years of racing, won 7,250. He won the Australian Cup, with 126 pounds up, two years ago, and the Governors Plate and Kings Plate at the same meeting.
