I CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES | s £ LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 29. Jockey D. Dubois left tonight for Latonia to assist in the preparation of the J. B. Res-pess horses at that track. Jockey T. Luther, who has been under engagement to the Cold Stream Stud of C. B. Shaffer, has signed a contract with that establishment. The stable in its entirety will be campaigned at Latonia. The Longridge stable goes to Arlington on Thursday. Martie Flynn, the Fairmount Derby candidate of Stuyvesant Peabody, Chicago sportsman, this morning worked a mile and a quarter in company with Flat Iron in 2 :06y3 handily over a good track. He managed to beat Flat Iron by one-fifth of a second in the long gallop and was timed in 2:42%. :tt%, 1:13% and 1:39. It was a splendid move. The son of Sweep On — Rosa Lee will be shipped to Fairmount on Thursday. Toro, another Fairmount Derby eligible and which carried the E. B. McLean colors into third place in the Kentuckv Derbv, breezed a half mile in :49. Herbert P. Gardners Clyde Van Dusen, an intended starter in the renewal of the ,000 added Valley Stakes at Fairmount Park June 9, will be shipped to that track following the running of the Bashford Manor Stakes here tomorrow. Desha Breckinridges good colt Lord Braed-elbane is on the mend, after suffering bucked shins in his last winning race. H. Neusteter, who for several years has raced his stable in Canada, is passing up the Dominion circuit for Latonia. He has seven horses to campaign" at the Covington track. Among the early departures for Latonia, where the annual spiing meeting will be opened next Tuesday, is the stable of J. W. Farrish that leaves here Wednesdav. This establishment includes Rolled Stocking, which finished second in the Grainger Memorial Handicap last Saturday, and Percentage, candidates for the ,000 added Inaugural Handicap that will top the first days offering at Latonia. The three horses that T. C. McDowell has in training will be campaigned through the Latonia season. They are Winging, Guide and Slim. J. N. Camdens Dark Phantom, M. Gold-blatts Marconi, H. P. Headleys Helens Babe, R. E. Leichleiters Cartago, S. Peabodys Flat Iron, W. H. Whitehouses Royal Julian, W. E. Hupps Reveries Gal, E. J. Hollands Krick, C. C. .and G. Y. Hieatts Lancer, D. T. Mat-lacks Genial Host and C. B. Shaffers Barbara are among likely starters for the Inaugural Handicap at Latonia Tuesday. W. C. Weant loaded his nine horses and shipped them to Fairmount Park Monday morning. Mrs. W. Fronk, wife of jockey Fronk and who underwent an operation last Saturday, was greatly improved today, according to reports from the sick room. Jockey J. R. Kelly, who was out of the saddle for several days with a bruised hand, resumed riding Monday afternoon. Cecil Howard will ship the Four Oaks Stock Farm Stable to Latonia at the conclusion of the local meeting. This establishment, along with numerous others, will be transferred to the Covington track over the coming week-end. *
