LATONTA, Ky., May 29.— With 142 nomi-■atlona, including the greatest three-year-olds in the country, the .", 000 added Latonia Derby, which will be vun on Saturday, Juno 23, promises to settle beyond Question the championship of the three-year-old division. This race, at a mile and a half, removes racing luck from the equation and the winner is always a thoroughbred of indisputable stamina and high quality. Victorian, Nssssk and a few other eastern stars failed to come out for the Id n-tucky Derby, and few of the western leaders will take part in the Belmont Stakes, but all are expected to meet in the Latonia Derby as a final battleground of the spring and summer meetings. Though Reign Count will be missing all the other star three-year-olds are ameng the potential starters in the Latonia Derby, including Harry Payne "Whitneys Victorian, II. B. The opening day of the Ratonia meeting, Tuesday, June 5. will be featured by the running of the Inaugural Handicap, ,000 added, thrce-ycar-olds and upward, tine mile and a sixteenth. This event cloned with seventy-one nominations, among which are the loading stake performers of the turf. K. B.
