BELMONT PARK NOTES | £ • - NEW YORK. N. Y.,- May 29. Puss in Boots and her Captain Cuttle foal, which was purchased by W. W. Vaughan on Saturday, have been transferred to hia Red Bank, N. J., farm. He also reported that he had bred five mares to the Fair Play stal-.lion Catalan, which is standing at Reid Rileys Painted Post, Va., farm. Dr. F. W. Ashe returned from Montreal, where he served as an official at Mount Royal Park. He leaves for Chicago to assume his duties at Arlington Park. The stables of R. T. "Wilson, W. J. Salmon, S. Pingree, Bayard Tuckcrman, H. C. Fisher, Sewickley and Carlton Stable, which were raced at the Woodbine meeting, were returned to New York today. Scotch and Soda, from the Sagamore Stable, died on Saturday. The horse ruptured a blood vessel at Havre de Grace. Dick Thompson reported that Brother Bebe, the good two-year-old in the Idle Hour Stock Farm Stable, broke down during a workout Sunday morning. The col* raptured his tendons near the ankle. George H. Doll, manager of the Fair Grounds mutuel department, arrived from Baltimore to associate himself with Frank Shannon for the remainder of the meeting. Jockey R. J. Fisher was suspended for five clays by the starter for disobedience at the post in the last race Monday. Trainer Tompkins reported that the Hopeful winner. Brooms, which went amiss in the Preakness Stakes, was doing as well as can be expected. Tompkins is not enthusiastic over bringing Brooms back to the races. It may be that the horse will be retired to the farm.
