TRACK ON BREEDING FARMS ♦ Edward F. Simms and W. R, Cce Plan One -Mile Courses. + i:. II. Bradleys Charity Bay Racing Attracting Great Attention in Kehtoel y — Children Bcnrfit. LEXINGTON, Ky., May 29.— George Horine, civil engineer who has had wide experience in the building of race courses, has completed the surveys and drawings for two new one mile courses to be located on breeding farms in Central Kentucky. One is to be at E. F. Simms Xalapa Farm and the other is to be at W. R. Coes Shoshone Farm. The former is in Bourbon County, a few miles out of Paris and about twenty-two miles from Rexington a ad the other is in Fayette County, about six miles from Lexington. There are new one mile tracks on Col. E. R. Bradieys Idle Hour Stock Farm, six miles from Rexington, and on C. B. Shaffers Coldstream Farm, three miles from Lexington. There is a mile track on Hinala Farm, which is the home of Clarence Lcbus, recently appointed member of the Slate Racing Commission, and another on Ashland Stud Farm, which is owned by Maj. T. C. McDowell and other heirs of the estate- of the late Maj. Henry C. McDowell. These last mentioned two are also close to Lexingt im. but are grown over with grass. A short while ago Colonel Bradley let it be known that he is arranging for a days racing at the Idle Hour Stock Farm track in the coming fall for the benefit of the orphans of Fayette, Kenton, Campbell and Jefferson Counties, he, for several years, bavins; been the chief contributor to a fund of 010,000 for the benefit of the little ones in Kenton, Campbell and Jefferson Counties. This year Fayette is being taken into the distribution. Barry Shan;. on, manager of Idle Hour Stock Farm, is going forward with the arrangements for the big day for this splendid charity. Ed Ballard, who is a circus magnate, is sending the seats and some tenting to shelter them from rain, if there should come a shower. George Doll will have charge of the mutuels. The date is yet to be fixed and when that is done, the conditions of the races will be announced. Since Colonel Bradley made his announcement and since it became known that the Simms and Coe tracks are to be built, the suggestion has been made and now is being discussed in local breeding and racing circles that it soon will be possible to have, if the owners of the tracks are agreeable, a couple days of racing at each point each year, similar to the Hunts meetings in the East.
