READY FOR OMAHA MEETING Numerous Horses on Grounds and Working Out Daily — Officials All on Hand. OMAHA, Neb., May 28. — From present indications it would appear that the Ak-Sar-Ben Exposition Co., which controls racing in this city, is in for its very best meeting. Many horses are being exercised over the track every morning and all stalls are filled, many horses being forced to go outside for stable room. Among the prominent stables at Ak-Sar-Ben Field are those of Alexander Pantages, A. G. Tarn, McConnell and Walker, C. B. Irwin, C. E. Davison, B. A. Jones, Midnight Follies Stable, W. A. Stahler, J. C. Gillem, O. L. Foster, A. Wallin, Arsonia Stable and several horses belonging to Aid. J. J. Cough-lin of Chicago. The officials are all on hand. Herman Conkling arrived last night from Maryland ; starter Eddie Thomas got in from Aurora ; racing secretary John Carey has been here for some weeks and the remainder of the official family, N. J. Ronin and Perry Reed, stewards ; J. S. Rothert, placing judge, and Willie Doyle and James Gallagher have been here for some time. Many attractive races are in the book for the meeting, the most important being the Council Bluffs Handicap, the Governors Handicap, the Omaha Handicap, the Ak-Sar-Ben Kings Cup Handicap, the Ak-Sar-Ben Field Handicap and the Stock Yards Handicap, all with ,000 purses. The meeting will open Friday, May 31, and seven races will be run daily. «
