REPORT PROGRESS AT BUTTE WINNIPEG, Man., June 22— R. James Speers. general manager of Polo Park and Whittier Park, in Winnipeg, arrived here today by air from Butte, Mont., where he has been engaged in supervising the construction of a big new racing plant. The object of the visit was to be on hand for the meeting of the Prairie Thoroughbred Breeders and Racing Association, which was held today, and to take in the final days racing at Polo Park. Mr. Speers reports that work is rapidly coming to a close at Butte and that the track will be ready in ample time for the opening on July 13.
