FORT ERIE BOOK ATTRACTS Large Number of Applications for Stabling for Meeting from July 3 to July 10. BUFFALO, N. Y., June 26.— Racing Secretary Kugene W. Bury has prepared a most attractive book for the Niagara Racing Associations first 1929 meeting at Fort Erie from July 3 to July 10 and, judging by the requests for stable room, there will be an unusually large amount of thoroughbreds quartered at the course when the bugle blows for the inaugural. Featuring the opening days card will be the renewal of the W. M. German Handicap, a race at a mile and seventy yards, for three-year-olds and upward, purse ,000. In addition, on opening day, there will be two other purses, the Woodstock, five-eighths, for two-year-olds, value ,000, and the Seneca, three-quarters, for three-year-olds and upward, value ,000. On the Fourth of July, the second day of the meeting, the renewal of the Fourth of July Stakes, mile and C sixteenth, for three-year-olds : nd upward, will feature the card. This event is worth ,000 and a big field of handicap horses is looked for. Several other features will be run during the meeting, chief among them being the renewal of the Hotel Statler Handicap, mile and a sixteenth, for three-year-olds and upward, value ,000. In addition, the owner of the winning horse will be the recipient of a handsome silver cup suitably engraved, a present from the management of the Statler.
