FAIRMOUNT COLONY GROWS Large Shipments Arrive From Havre de Grace and Wheeling. More Arrivals From California Kentucky Contingents to Come Later Collins-Tillc Track and Plant Ready. COLLINSVILLE, 111., April 29. With the conclusion of the Havre de Grace and Wheeling meetings Saturday, quite a few horses and horsemen started toward Fairmount Park, No less than sixteen stables were shipped from both points and two additional stables are due to arrive here today from Tanforan. In the Maryland shipment, which made up a special train, the following stables were represented : G. R. Bryson, B. B. Rice, R. Pollard, F. Seremba, Chas. Graffagnini, W. J. Potter, Mrs. O. Chaney, Jos. Leiter and Steve Judge. From the Wheeling sector will come : J. G. Demarest, G. F. Jenkins, H. D. Cox, J. T. Ireland, O. Viau, J. R. Garlock and F. C. Dunn. The stables of Paul Lycan and J. J. Reilly arrived from California on Friday and they reported the Brown Shasta and Meadowbrook Farm stables would arrive here not later than Tuesday from the same point. With already close to 700 horses on the grounds this will give Fairmount an additional 150 horses, which will be supplemented by other shipments from Kentucks. Horses which are expected in the foregoing shipments to arrive this week include : Mole Hill, Extreme, Agapanthus, By Product, Master Halligan, Virado, Arcturus, Malolo, Whileaway, Jimmy Moran, Particular, Rau-cona, Thelma, Panola, Ormonbird, Princess Dare, Volante, Genuine, Bocaratone, Polvo Theo. Rochester, -Broad A., Sonny Fronk, Smoldering, War Instigator, Rhinock and others. Already on the grounds are such stars as My Dandy, Brown Wisdom, Flag Bearer, Reveille Boy, Inca, Germaine Chauvelot, Sand Fiddler, Step Along, Wizardry and others. This is Fairmounts tenth season, to run from May 10 to July 5 a period of fortj-nine days, witli the Fairmount Derby scheduled for May 24, seven days after the Kentucky Derby. Already many of the stars which will go in the Kentucky classic are nominated for the Fairmount stake. They include High Foot, Gallant Knight, Michigan Boy, Jimmy Moran, Particular, Ladrone, Sydney and Thistle Ann, the nominations closing on May 10 for the event. The course proper is in excellent condition, under the personal supervision of superintendent Placide Frigerio, who is in hopes of breaking several of the existing records this season. The lawns have been dressed and the flower beds refurbished, until the place is now a spot of beautj-. General manager Eddy is highly optimistic over the success of the season and is encouraged by the splendid increase in club house membership. A new golfing adjunct has proved a wonderful stimulus for this membership. A nine-hole course was constructed on the grounds adjacent to the propertj.
