NUMEROUS DERBY SPECIALS] ♦ Many Chicagoans Charter Trains for Trip to Louisville. » Mayor Ormak to Head Party on AI Horan ] Special — Others to Make Journey Via Aeroplane. ♦ Chicagos caravan to the Kentucky Derby Will typify social, financial and political class, as always, but this time there will i be more of the spectacular, more individuals ] of prominence in the air, rail and motor | lineup. Mayor Anton J. Cermak. an enthusiast in all sporting affairs, will journey to Louisville on the Al Horan special. In the party of the most widely discussed mayor in the i world will be his secretary, Henry Sonnen- j schein, also E. J. Denemark, Clayton F. Smith. Martin J. OBrien. Raymond W. Moore. Joseph Boss, Paul V. Collianni, John Thoman. George T. Scully, George G. Gaw, Peter M. Kelly, Homer J. Byrd. Joseph Dire, William J. Conners, Dorsey R. Crowe and Moe Rosenberg. In addition to Mayor Cermaks party there will be many others from the city hall, and a Pullman special from Springfield, capital of the state. Train specials from Chicago will include those chartered by the Chicago Athletic Association, Hamilton Club, Illinois Athletic Club, Midland Club, South Shore Country Club, Joseph Coffey, Sammy Wolf. Billy Skidmore, Al Bloom, Edward McCabe and Al Horan. These trains will go over the Pennsylvania, Big Four, Monon and Chicago and Eastern Illinois railroads. Monon travelers who desire, will break the trip by stopping at French Lick Springs Hotel, then motor to Louisville. The rail trips will vary in cost from 0 to 0, which includes everything. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McHale, Mr. and Mrs. James F. Walsh and Mr. and Mrs. George F. McDonoughue, after a weeks golfing at French Lick, will join the Derby throng. Mr. and Mrs. A. Sabath, accompanied by Judge and Mrs. Joseph Sabath, Mr. and Mrs. Paul R. Simon and Mrs. and Mrs. F. Newberger. will be at French Lick Springs Hotel. They will devote a week to Churchill Downs racing, traveling to and fro by motor each day. Mrs. R. R. McCormick, wife of Colonel McCormick, publisher of the Chicago Tribune, will fly to the Derby. Mr. and Mrs. Stuyvesant Peabody, who occupy a residence, during the Louisville racing season, will entertain the following during Derby week: Miss Katherine Harvey of Kansas City, B. C. Thompson of St. Paul. Miss Harriet McLaughlin, Mrs. Kimball Salisbury, Mrs. Vincent Healy and Mr. and Mrs. Hampton Winston of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Strotz, accompanied by the David Becks of Lake Forest, will make the trip by motor, stopping first at French Lick. Mr. and Mrs. Burt Massee, and Mr. and Mrs. Leon W. Mitchell will be early arrivals in Louisville. They are to be house guests of Mrs. Menefee Wirgman. A notable party of Chicagoans will be house guests of the Joseph Leiters. Mr. Leiter is a Chicago, Washington and Kentucky sportsman, now campaigning the most pretentious stable of his turf career. The Leiter party will include Charles Knickerbocker, Mr. and Mrs. Darrow Fulton, E. R. Pike and Thomas Leiter. They will be joined j by Mr. and Mrs. Huston Rawls of New , York. Derby box reservations for Chicagoans, surpassing in number those of last year, assure greater representation of society than j heretofore. . Air way companies announce that they will be equipped to transport an unusual . ■ number of persons to the Derby. Railroad representatives have been combing the city T for business. All report satisfactory patronage. | Motor companies are making a strong bid with a low rate and the promise of c fast time.
