Start poor and slow. Won driving; second and third easily. SINGLE STAR followed the early lead and came through on the inside on the far turn, shook off the others and drew away in the stretch, outlasting SARA BURDON in the final drive. The latter, slow to get going, worked her way up and finished fast. ZAIDEE showed early speed and, racing HIEAWAY into defeat, held on well. ZAILA began slowly. HIEAWAY had no excuses. Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. PRINCE PEST forced the early pace and, racing HURRY BYE into defeat while saving ground on the turns, drew away in the final sixteenth. SMOOTH KNIGHT raced forwardly throughout and would have been a more formidable factor under stronger handling. STREET SINGKt, outrun early, closed ground in the stretch. LONG GONE finished well from a slow start. GENIUS quit. HURRY BYE had no mishaps. The latter moved into command after the start and, rated along under steady restraint in the early racing, saved ground, but tired badly in the last eighth and quit.
