DARK AYRESS WINS BY A HEAD Defeats Travelair in Stirring Stretch Duel at Beulah Park — Big Ladies Day Crowd. COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 11.— Darkayress carried the colors of A. Lamoureux to victory in the Columbus Zoo Purse, the feature offering at Beulah Park this afternoon, when she defeated Travelair by a head after a hard stretch drive in the fifth. Travelair held on courageously during the final drive after having set the pace. Don Caesar was a close third. It was a stirring finish, and aroused much interest. Following the running the Columbus Zoo trophy, a silver horse, was presented to owner A. Lamoureux by judge Ireland. The races were decided over a heavy but drying out track. Rain threatened at intervals, with short periods of sunshine. Ladies Day helped increase the attendance, which was above the average for a week day. •
