RIVERSIDES AUSPICIOUS START KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 11.— What promises to be the best meeting ever held in this city started at Riverside Park Saturday when the Riverside Park Jockey Club, under the direction of William P. Kynes, opened its gates for its spring meeting of twenty-five days or more. Despite the disagreeable weather, fully 5,000 people were in the stands when the horses paraded to the post for the first race. Intermittent showers throughout the afternoon failed to dampen the ardor of the large attendance, and the close finishes served to keep the crowd in good humor.
