TANNERY LEXINGTON LEADER [ ♦ Prichard Horse Wins Two Handicaps and ,000 at Lexington. ■ a • g Joseph Leiter Second in Money Winning I Owners List — Eugene James Takes Riding Honors. r . r The Kentucky Association, which operates r the Lexington track, the oldest race course in the west, as usual, had the honor of I opening the season in Kentucky, staging a t ten-day meeting, from April 18 to April 29, during which time seventy-five races r were decided, and the Association distrib- t uted 6,178, a daily average of ,617.80. E. F. Prichard, whose Tannery was in C splendid form, winning two races, headed f the list of money-winning owners with ,650. Joseph Leiter, whose Princess Ivre ac- * counted for the Hinata Stakes, won three other races also, and was credited with i ,090. A. Pelleteri, G. Collins, H. P. Head- i ley and Gallaher and Combs were others who c fared well. t Tannery, through winning the Ben Ali and t Camden Handicaps, was the leader among the money-winning horses with an even J ,000. Princess Ivre was second, and Proteus, victor in the Idle Hour Stakes, was j third. ] Eugene James, contract rider for the Lei- 1 ter stable, piloted nine winners, to take the j riding honors for the meeting. C. E. Allen, ] riding in brilliant form, tied for second place 1 with three others, each riding six winners. ! Those who tied with Allen were C. Corbett, M. Rose, J. W. Smith and T. Vercher. Training honors fell to J. J. Greely, who 1 saddled seven winners. Four others saddled four each, N. K. Beal, J. M. Hukill, C. H Moore and W. W. Taylor.
