Lehmann, president of the Arlington Park Jockey Club, for the impending renewals at Arlington Park of the 0,000 added Hyde Park and the 5,000 Post and Paddock Stakes, has caught the practical eye of "Skeets" Garner, eldest of the riding Garners, who is now clocking them for various clients and training on occasions. Orphan Prince, Illinois-bred, a product of Lehmanns rising young thoroughbred nursery at Fox Lake, has not raced yet. He will make his bow some time in July. "Looks just like Celt," was the comment of Garner after he had looked over the Illinois product. "Low in front, deep through the heart, big barreled, plenty of length underneath and short legged." Garner ought to know. He was a star jockey in the East when Celt, a son of Commando, and his stable companion, the unbeaten Colin, flourished. He never rode either of those colts, but he rode against them many times. Lehmann has withheld Orphan Prince from two-year-old racing to give him every opportunity for normal development. He and six others of Lehmanns have been at Arlington Pari three or four weeks.
