TWENTY GRAND LEADS HORSES „, who vi « Greentree Stable Star Earns Total q. st of 8,770 at Belmont. w • M Westchester Racing Association Distributes B 28,195 During Twenty-Six Day Meet- I !J ing — Kurtsinger Leads Riders. q ♦ C E The recent Belmont Park meeting, from r May 15 to June 13, a period of twenty-six K racing days, will go down in history as one J of the most interesting from, a racing stand- point, ever staged at the great Nassau coun- c ty course. The Belmont Stakes, in Which P Twenty Grand and Jamestown met, was a fitting climax for the meeting at which the F Westchester Racing Association gave away H 28,195, a daily average of 6,469.04. One P hundred and fifty-six races were decided, „ among that number being many valuable ■£ De stakes. I Twenty Grands triumph over the one re- C maining rival which he had not previously ~ defeated resulted in his taking first place g among the money-winning horses, and giv- ing first place to Mrs. Payne Whitneys fi Greentree Stable in the money winning B owners list. A total of four first places , and 3,770 fell to the Greentree Stable horses, W. R. Coe finishing second in the list, with six victories and 3,970. G. D. Widener. chiefly through Jamestowns With- s ers Stakes victory, was third with win- n nings of 7,715, and the Rancocas Stable fourth with 3,415. , Twenty Grand, of course, led the money | winning horses with 8,770. His arch rival, * Jamestown, was second with 2,510, winning * three races in all during the meeting. Os- * culator. winner of the National Stallion ■ Stakes, was third, earning 6,920. Moka- * tarn followed the Burch juvenile, winning ■ two races and 6,380. Mokatam numbers J the Suburban Handicap among his victor- J ies, defeating none other than Questionnaire . J and Gallant Knight. ! C. Kurtsinger was the leading rider, with ■ thirteen winning mounts. F. Catrone was j second with eleven winners; E. Stefan and ■ R. Workman tied for third with ten each, * and A. Robertson and L. McAtee followed | them with nine winners each. Clarence Buxton saddled the most winners among the trainers, sending fourteen I I horses to the post which were victorious in I . their respective races. J. H.
