Woolfs Ruffin and Mayetta, two-year-olds by Blind Play, arrived at Washington Park Monday from their owners Missouri farm. Trainer D. E. Stewart will point them for late summer and fall racing. Bargello, the C. V. Whitney candidate for j the 0,000 added Francis S. Peabody Memorial Handicap, to be run on the closing day of the Washington Park meeting, worked seven-eighths in l:304/5 at Washington Park this morning. He was accompanied by Skirl. In addition to Ladder, the American Derby candidate of Walter J. Salmon, the horses Snowflake, winner of the 1930 Illinois Oaks, and Mad Career, Axmetic, Brave and Bold, Persistency, Air Pilot, Expertus, Mad Step and Excursion were brought to Washington Park by Jack Pryce to race out the remain- . der of the meeting. Jockey L. Schaefer arrived Monday night. Under present plans trainer Kay Spence will take Gallant Knight and a few other of the Audley horses to Arlington Park, while Terry OMalley moves the nucleus of the main division of that stable to Latonia in time for the opening of the meeting at the Covington track. Gallant Knight will start in the Stars and Stripes Handicap at Arlington and, after filling his engagement in the Enquirer Handicap at Latonia, returns to Arlington for the Arlington Handicap. Twenty-five Audley horses will be at Latonia by next Tuesday morning, a carload from here Monday joining ten transferred from Churchill Downs Monday. Thomas Scott, general manager of the Kentucky Association, which opsrates the track at Lexington, and John Reed, also of Lexington, were visitors for the day. Clyde Van Dusen plans to ship his entire stable, including Sweep All, Easter Time and others he is training for Charles T. Fisher of Detroit, to Latonia next Sunday night. Following the American Derby, Sweep All will have as his next objective the rich Latonia Derby, to be run on June 27, opening day of the Latonia meeting. Nomination blanks for the Latonia Championship Stakes of 1933 and Breeders Futurity, to be run the same year, are being distributed and are now available to horsemen at Washington Park. The Latonia Championship Stakes, with an estimated value of 0,000, is for foals of 1930, and the Breeders Futurity, a Lexington fixture, for foals of 1931. The latter closes July 1 and the former on July 18. The stewards today interrogated jockey Earl Pool with regard to his ride on Adobe Post in the third race Monday. Pool was not in colors this afternoon. As the remount service of the United States army is anxious to acquire several thoroughbred stallions, Capt. E. B. Mc-Kinley has extended his stay here and will inspect such horses as horsemen here desire to offer. Jockey R. Cheatham, who had the mount on Lejoy, winner of the first race, was suspended for four days for rough riding. A carload of the C. V. Whitney horses were to get away tonight for Latonia and the remainder of the stable will be shipped about Thursday night. Trainer M. Gold-blatt is considering passing up the Francis S. Peabody Memorial Handicap, with Bargello a certain starter in the 0,000 added Independence Handicap to be run at Latonia on July 4. Outer Harbor was purchased at private terms from J. J. Coughlin by L. C. Newsome. James N. Crofton, general manager of Agua Caliente, is not coming East for the American Derby. He is busy at Agua Caliente with details pertaining to the coming second summer meeting at that track.
