SLOPPY AT DUFFERIN PARK Thunderstorm Visits Toronto Course Just Before Fifth Race — Jockey Ralls Riding a Feature. TORONTO, Ont., June 19.— A heavy thunderstorm visited Dufferin Park previous to the fifth race, turning the track into a sea of sloppy mud. Sea Kale, racing for J. E. Smallman, one with a well-known liking for the soft going and a well backed choice, scored a hollow victory in this affair. Six lengths in back of the winner came P. S. Pedlars Rose Lady, with D. Garritys Magna Charta earning the minor award by a head from Moden. Dougherty did not hurry the Smallman plater in the early stages, allowing him to settle into stride before making his move. Sea Kale moved up fast on the back stretch, and by the time the far turn had been reached was on even terms with the leaders, then drew away into a long lead on the turn and increased his advantage with every stride until the finish was reached. Rose Lady, though outclassed by the winner, turned in a creditable performance and was far in advance of Magna Charta. The riding of C. Ralls was the feature of the Friday racing. He piloted three winners. He began in the opening race with Anoka, followed this up by guiding Candy Man to victory, and made it a triple when Cryout won the third.
