TRAINERS BUSY AT LAT0NIA * More Than Four Hundred Horses Now at Milldale Course. ♦ Ghokoloskee in Outstanding Gallop of Morning — Flaunt Works Five-Eighths — Scuttle Oaks Candidate. ♦ LATONIA, Ky., June 19— With more than 400 horses now quartered at Latonia, there were numerous works among the candidates for the six stakes that will be decided during the thirty-one days meeting starting here Saturday, June 27. One of the best moves of the morning was that of Chokoloskee, which George M. Hen-drie named for the Enquirer Handicap, the 0,000 added race, down for decision July 18. The son of Golden Broom, in company with Silvery, a stablemate, ran a handy three-quarters in 1:15. Beginning from the three-quarter post, the Hendrie eligible ran the half mile in :49, and the five-eighths in 1:01%. Cliff Porter called on the Warm Stables Flaunt for a five-eighths work and the son of Sun Flag ran the distance in 1:04*4 in handy fashion. He ran the quarter in :25 and the half in :50*5. The colt is coming up to his Cincinnati Trophy engagement in good fashion. Jimmy Moran, which Mose Goldblatt named for the Independence and Enquirer Handicap, was breezed in preparation for a more ambitious work tomorrow. He went three-eighths in :40. He was accompanied by Fudge and Elysium. Grand Champion and Grand Union, both of which J. B. Respess named for the Cincinnati Trophy, were on the track and after a gallop of a mile, he called on Grand Champion for the first work. With J. Sauter astride, the son of Royal II. and Bonnie Crest began at the half mile post and ran to the stand in :49%. He went the quarter in :24%, and the three-eighths in :36%. He galloped the five-eighths in 1:03%. Our Fancy, another eligible for the Trophy from the same barn, began from the half mile ground in blinkers and ran a half in :48%. He pulled up the five-eighths in 1:03%. Following the work of Our Fancy, Grand Union jogged from in front of the stand to the half mile ground and, beginning from that station, ran the four furlongs in :50%. He negotiated the first quarter in :24% and pulled up five-eighths in 1:04%. St. Nazaire, a son of Busy American and Wake Up, was the fourth of the Trophy candidates from the Respess stable to work and he also went a half mile. The half was timed in :48%, and the five-eighths in 1:02%, handily. The quarter was run in :23%. Jockey Gooler was astride the colt. ■
