DARK MIST, hard ridden to reach CHINKEE, displaced the latter when securing racing room on the inside on the turn, was hard ridden thereafter and outstayed ROSEMARIE B. The latter improved her position steadily, came through a narrow opening between the leaders and closed fast. DESERVE, prominent all the way, continued fast to the end. LOW GIRL was held safe in the final drive. KENORA tired after three-eighths. LITTLE TURTLE raced evenly. CHINKEE tired when put to a drive. Scratched— 58387 Old Flirt, 102. KAURI, going in her best form, was hurried into a brief lead directly after the start, was L.ird ridden and came again after being passed to outgame OPTICAL near the end. The latter forced a good pace, gained a brief lead at the last eighth post, but tired badly in the last sixteenth. GOURDIN, outrun for five eighths, finished fastest of all on the outside. CUDGELETTE fell back steadily after the first eighth. GOLADER lacked speed. FAIR PROGRESS sulked and was pulled up. Scratched— 60096 Wigtoi, 109. CAPTAINS GIRL, close up from the start, responded willingly to punishment, wore down UVIRA and was up to win in the last sixteenth. UVIRA. hard ridden from the start, raced BALAI DOR into defeat and held on tenaciously thereafter. BOLD ROBIN worked his way up on the outside and was wearing down the first two. WIG, a factor throughout, held on gamely. BALAI DOR forced a fast pace for five-eighths. FIRE BELLE was away fast and raced evenly. CARILINA could not get up. TAMERLANE followed closest to MONDE, saved ground and continued gamely to the end. MARGARET CAL settled into her best stride after a half and finished fast. MONDE showed good early speed, but tired fast in the closine eiehth PLEDGE had no mishaps. GRIERSON quit. HAZEL GUMBERTS shook off PYGMALION, took a good lead and held on stubbornly. DYNAMITE challenged leaving the back stretch, but was held perfectly safe in the closing drive.
