Won driving; second and third the same. LUCKY JACK worked his way up under vigorous urging on the turn and, disposing of BLACK SIGNAL in the stretch, held HOME WORK safe. The latter, in close quarters early, responded gamely when clear and closed with a rush. BLACK SIGNAL, prominent throughout, took command on the stretch turn, then tired in the final eighth. WARD-IN-CHANCERY, slow to get going, closed a big gap in the final quarter. JUNGLE BOY propped at the start, saved ground thereafter and closed a big gap. BO BALLOT had no mishaps. FETISH, away forwardly and hustled clear in the first sixteenth, was steadied in front while saving ground and, continuing gamely under pressure in the stretch, held TACK safe. The latter, prominent all the way, responded gamely under punishment in the closing eighth, but could not get up. TOREALONG, outrun early, saved ground on the turn and, gradually improving his position, disposed of LORD CONCORD in the stretch. The latter, close up all the way, tired in the final eighth. SUN TEATIME began in a tangle, was forced wide all the way, but responded gamely in the stretch and Just failed to get up. BLACK FEATHER, on the inside and in close quarters all the way, finished resolutely when clear. COCK ROBIN, away tardily, closed a big gap on the outside in the last quarter. SOUTHCO improved his position on the outside, challenged gamely entering the stretch, but was not good enough. DON TASKER, prominent in the early racing, was cut off entering the stretch, then went to the outside and closed a big gap.
