BELMONT TURF NOTES f § b Stake blanks for the New York State Fair at Syracuse were distributed by Tom Thorp. The condition books for the Aqueduct meeting were distributed Tuesday. Joe Edwards stated that he had fired Strait Jacket for knee trouble and that he had turned Baal out for the summer. W. C. Clancy arrived from Pimlico with his stable. Jockey J. Passero, who was seriously injured in an automobile accident at Miami, reported to the Brooklyn Stable Tuesday. Jockey W. Nertney will accompany the division that J. H. Stotler is shipping to Bainbridge for the Sagamore Stable. John Zoeller shipped the following horses, owned by the Pinetree Farm, to Woodbine: Wrack Royal, Howee and Zonda. Carlos De La Paz, who raced Night Tears at Havana, arrived from Chile for a brief visit. W. R. Coe shipped a division of his stable to Chicago in charge of Walter Creech. They will be campaigned in that section during the summer. Jockey C. Kurtsinger will leave for Toronto to ride for the Greentree Stable. The stable has several stake engagements at that point. John I. Day arrived from Miami and will remain for the summer. Jockey J. Gilbert, who led the list of winning riders at Havana and later at Pimlico, arrived with the Glen Riddle Stable. The horses came here in charge of George Conway. Memories of other years were recalled to veterans when Donnez Moi, a plater paraded in the fifth race Monday sporting the colors that were made famous by the late "Lucky" Baldwin. Marshall Lilly will take a division of the Greentree Stable to the Woodbine for that meeting. Barry Ryan, owner of the Barry Vail Stable, purchased at undisclosed terms from the Dorwood Stable the private stable they built several years ago. Carry the News, which carried Mrs. John Hay Whitneys colors Tuesday, was the highest priced yearling of last season. This son of The Porter— Cypher Code, sold for 6,000. James Fitzsimmons was host to a large party of children, including his grandchildren, at the circus Saturday evening.
