He will commence schooling horses at Washington Park Thursday. John Morrissey, who served -chief assistant to Thomas at the San Bruno track, also arrived. Both Thomas and Morrissey will assist starter Harry Morrissey during the Washington Park meeting. The stable of James Emery arrived from Tanforan in charge of trainer A. D. Jones. The latters son, Bobby Jones, who led the riders on the Chicago circuit last summer, was also an arrival. Jockey W. Boganowski will leave for Bainbridge Park at the conclusion of the meeting. i The horses of the Pasadena Stable, which owned by Jack P. Atkin, western promoter, passed through Chicago Wednesday morning en route to Woodbine Park, To- r ronto. v James Butler, trainer of Epona, was fined i 0 for removing the bandages from that filly in the first race without permission [ from the stewards. J. Helfstein has been granted a trainers license and will in future train his horses t Happy Lad, Princess Carolina and Well Heeled. Several carloads of horses arrived at Washington Park from Tanforan Wednesday morning. Among those whose horses a were aboard are A. A. Baroni, L. T. White- a hill and a division of the Northway Stable, r Dr. Freeland, which came out of his race v last Saturday in splendid shape, was on the track Wednesday morning and breezed six furlongs in 1:16%. The Wild Rose Farms Dowagiac, which ; being trained at Exposition Park for the ■ distance handicaps to be run later in the [ season, is coming along nicely. The horses belonging to H. C. Francis Dunne is in receipt of a letter from T. P. Gorman, manager of Connaught Park, Ottawa, inviting horsemen to ship to that meeting, which will be held from June to June 15. Several weeks of racing in Montreal follow the Ottawa season. Following is a partial list of the jockeys now riding at Exposition Park who will be seen in action at Washington Park: T. Roderick, T. Salazar, E. Arcaro, L. Cunning-i ham, C. King, J. Redding, J. Leyland, R. Tilden, J. Neel, T. P. Martin, R. Montgom-i ery, A. Richard, J. Boucher, A. Childress, J. Kellum, L. Cantrell, A. Pendergrass, J. Mc-l Coy, D. Smith, E. Roehm, P. Groos, R. De Prema and A. Vuillemot. The horses which E. E. Major has been campaigning at Exposition Park will be shipped to Bainbridge Park later in the week. Jockeys J. Hernandez and H. West left for Bainbridge Park Wednesday night while jockey J. Lane will depart for the same point Thursday. Jockey D. Cox, who has been riding in good form here, will leave for Kansas City with a division of the O. L. Foster Stable at the conclusion of this meeting. Additions to the riding colony were jockey D. Smith from Kentucky and jockey Anton Pendergrass from California. Pendergrass, who recently underwent an operation for appendicitis, is about ready to return to the saddle. Among the stables shipping here from Exposition Park to Bainbridge are those of J. Cattarinich, F. Seremba, H. T. Cox, H. Selnik, G. Kalbfleisch and the Edwards Estate. Jockey P. Wilhoit will leave for Riverside, Kansas City, Saturday night, while jockey T. Reno will go to Bainbridge Park at the end of the meeting. Leslie Newton is distributing the registra- tion blanks for Washington Park at Lin- coin Fields each morning. Capt. E. B. McKinley of the U. S. Remount Service is a visitor and may purchase a few horses for army use. Among the prominent stables that have lately arrived at Washington Park are those of W. J. Salmon, Northway Stable, Audley Farm Stable, and a division of the E. R. Bradley string. Many arrivals are expected from Kentucky during the remaining days of the week. The horses of J. H. Mannheimer which have been stabled at Hawthorne have been vanned over to Washington Park. R. J. Gilmore arrived at Washington Park from Nashville, Tenn., where the majority of his horses have been resting up during the winter. E. Drillon claimed Dunes from Mrs. R. Sullivan for ,000 out of the seventh race Tuesday.
