Gallant Knight, one of the aces of the handicap division who began the new year winner after his long lay-off in 1931, was assigned a burden of 125 pounds for the Washington Park Handicap, to be run on Homewood track next Monday, and he tops the weights list with The Beasel and Con Amore rated second with 122 pounds and Vander Pool given 120. Silverdale, who has been racing with marked success in Kentucky and is a probable starter, is asked to carry 118 pounds, Pansy Walker 116, Brown Wisdom 115 and Tannery, recent winner at Aurora, 114. Polydorous, A. Bartelsteins star of the Tanforan meeting, is given 112 pounds, along with My Dandy, Repentance, Ladder and Morfair. Hygros assignment is 113 pounds. Don Leon and Burning Up, both pointing for race, get in with 111. »
