I CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES T| s $ Clyde Van Dusen motored to Lexington Tuesday afternoon to inspect the horses at Charles T. Fishers Dixiana and those at his Few Acres Farm. Van Dusen returns here to supervise the shipment of the Dixiana and his own horses to Washington Park Wednesday night. Jockey Clarence McCrossen, who is under suspension until the end of the meeting, left for Chicago Tuesday morning and will join the Dixiana Stable upon his arrival at Washington Park. After campaigning his horses at Bainbridge Park, O. Viau plans to return to Kentucky for the Latonia meeting. His racers have won nine races in Kentucky this spring. H. H. Battle has taken over the contract on G. South, an apprentice, and the youngster resumes riding here. Light Eagle, A. B. Hancocks good filly and candidate for the Kentucky Oaks, to be run over one mile and an eighth here Saturday, had her final preparation for that race when she went the Oaks route in 2:01% handily, on a good track Tuesday morning. Twelve horses, all in training, will be offered at public auction in the paddock Wednesday morning. The horses to be sold are miscellaneously owned and will be sold by the McFerran Sales Company. Prince Farthing, recently acquired by Mrs. E. A. Carney, has been nominated for the Ohio State Derby, to be run at Bainbridge Park. R. M. Eastmans Cathop suffered cuts about one of his hind legs in his race yesterday and will not resume racing before ten days. A. Baker will take Brush Down, Peggy Lehmann, Squall and Helen Bond along with A. B. Hancocks and his own horses to Washington Park for his brother, R. I* Baker. Other of the latters horses will ba shipped to Latonia next week. They will include Just Fly, Flag Wave, Anna Beall, Ledford and Perfect Model. E. A. Widekamp, supervisor of the mutuels at Washington Park, left for Chicago. Sewell Coombs and Thomas Scott, presi dent and general manager, respectively ot the Kentucky Association, were down from Lexington for Wednesday afternoon. James Reed and Joseph Harding were other Lex-ingtonians among the visitors. * ,
