The latter forced to work his way through, closed with a belated rush. -SHIVA went into contention with a rush, but was unable to menace the first two. PLAIN BEN, unruly at the post, set the pace for seven-eighths, then tired. GAY SPIRIT raced well. SLEEPY BELLE showed speed. INDIAN DANCE and DUNRODE tired badly. BRIGHT BEAUTY was never a factor. ENRO. racing in four, bandages, closed a gap. STAR PLAY tired badly in the last eighth. BUD BROOM bolted to the outside, when racing with the leaders entering the back stretch.
