NO CUT IN ARLINGTON PURSES NEW YORK, N. Y., June 13. Joseph McLennan was a visitor of the day from Chicago and he corrected the published announcement of a cut in the purses at Arlington Park. It had been announced that there would be a new low of ,200. for the overnight races. McLennan explained there would be no cut in the purses, but that the prize money would be graduated according to the class of the horses engaged. The horse sof quality would be offered larger purses than the cheaper ones. It is a plan that will be put into operation in Maryland and an excellent one to provide good racing. The purse value would be governed by the quality of the horses engaged.
