KIANG WINS IN ENGLAND Victor Emanuels Kiang, ridden by Lord Carnarvon and an outsider in the betting at 20 to 1, surprised by winning the one mile and a half Lingfield Club Welter Stakes at Lingfield Park, England, recently. Kiang was making his first start on the flat in England, though he was a good winner in this country. He pi viously won one of his four races over hurdles in England. Bred in America and foaled in 1927, Kiang is a bay five-year-old unsexed son of Kai-Sang La-morce, by Prince Palatine or Sunfire, from Oriana, by Dark Ronald. Oriana, when the property of Joseph E. Widener, foaled La-morce, both dam and daughter being exported from France to this country.
