Carruthers, general manager at the Fox River Valley course. He said: "We have been making plans for this meeting for more than two weeks, and everything is in readiness for a successful meeting. We have been given ample assurance from many horsemen that they are desirous of racing at Aurora, and many of them are now stabled at the course and others are preparing to ship." In making his official announcement of the meeting, Mr. Carruthers also announced his officials for the meeting. They are: Sam C. Nuckols, presiding steward; John Carey, placing judge and clerk of the scales; Sidney Brown, paddock judge and entry clerk; A. J. The Burlington Railroad and the Aurora $ Elgin electric line will run special trains daily direct to the course. Admission to Aurora will be plus the tax. In accordance with its custom of several years, the opening day will be Ladies Day, and every Tuesday and Friday thereafter tho gate will be free to the gentler sex.
