CREE moved into an easy lead at once, went along under steadying restraint and finished with much to spare. CHLOEDAIR, closest to the winner throughout, held on gamely to outlast SIR KNEDAL. The latter, in close quarters going to the first turn, went to the outside on the back stretch and finished gamely. HOME SHORE, shuffled back going to the first turn, worked his way up between the others and was gaining steadily at the end. EPIDAWN and CLEAR KNIGHT had a rough passage going to the first turn. FLAMBOROUGH, starting out of hand and lunging when the start came, was knocked sidewise, but recovered quickly to enter a forward position, then moved up on the outside of the pacemakers and, continuing resolutely, wore down FRENCH KNIGHT in the last quarter. FRENCH KNIGHT, hurried into the lead, was mildly urged until challenged and held on gamely. FILTER, away well, tired badly on the stretch turn. VOTE, away slowly, could not improve his position. PRECIOUS DOLLAR was away fast and had no excuses. STROLL ALONG quit. SERGEANT HILL had no chance to start and was practically left. CROWNING GLORY settled in his stride quickly, came through on the inside, then went to the outside for the final drive and overtook WAVE ON near the end and was worked out an additional quarter. WAVE ON raced GOOD ADVICE into defeat after five-eighths, but was not good enough to stay with the winner. CAESARS GHOST, outrun for five-eighths, closed strongly and was worked out a mile with WAVE ON in 1:40. LAZI CANTER saved ground and finished gamely. GOOD ADVICE tired after showing good speed for five-eighths. IDLE STEFAN was inclined to bear out in the stretch, but showed a good performance. CRUISING was outrun. ACAUTAW, a factor all the way, shook off BOLD LOVER, but was poorly ridden in the last eighth. . BOLD LOVER saved ground, but tired in the final drive. BALIOS, crowded back midway of the turn, came gamely when clear. WISE ANNE, in the thick of early contention, tired near the end. THE PELICAN had no mishaps.
