JIM THOMAS YEARLING BARGAIN Special Correspondence. LONDON, England. Jim Thomas, the Irish-bred two-year-old that has carried the. colors of his owner-trainer, Stanley Wootton, to eight victories in eleven starts, ran his last race of the season at the five furlongs Newmarket Produce Stakes. Jim Thomas, named for the minister of foreign affairs in the British cabinet, was one of the bargains of last years Doncaster yearling sales, costing only ,400. He won in stakes this year 4,549. Bred in Ireland at the Victor Stud, County Limerick, by J. W. A. Harris, uncle of the Irish-American trainer, W. A. Harris, Jim Thomas, foaled in April, 1930, is a good looking, upstanding second produce of his dam, Honor Bright, by Stratford, from Honour, dam of several winners, including the 1927 Cambridgeshire dead-heater, Medal, by General Symbns, from Prized, dam of winners, including Mount William, victor of the Newbury Cup and Workihgham Stakes.
