1 EMPIRE CITY TURF NOTES j : j Frank Bain is laid up at his home with a" nervous breakdown. The condition books for the first part of the Jefferson Park meeting were distributed here Monday by Remy Dorr. Joe Notter will ship Kerry Patch to Pim-lico on Friday and point him for the Pimlico Futurity. John Loftus was a visitor during the day. He has made no plans for the winter. Earl Sande will ship the H. M. Howard horses to Maryland after this meeting. Jules Wesseler saddled Sweet Bud for P. Finamore, due to the latters absence. Will Knapp was among the visitors of the day. He has not formulated any plans for the winter season. Rodney Burdine, chairman of the Florida Racing Commission, was a .visitor during the afternoon. W. T. Anderson will ship from here to Columbia, S. C, next week. George Odom stated that he had retired the Arden Farms two-year-old, Quel Jeu, for the year. C. J. FitzGerald of the Agua Caliente Jockey Club was among the visitors of the day. -.
