LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 31 Mr. and Mrs. Warren Wright of Chicago were here Sunday afternoon to see trainer Dan E. The speed trials were over the Kentucky Association track, and the quarter chosen for the performances was from the head of the stretch to the stand. The track was lumpy and, while the sun was shining, there was an extremely high wind, so that the weather and track conditions were not favorable. In addition to those mentioned, manager Dick McMahon of Calumet Farm, Roy Car-ruthers of Chicago, and a number of trainers were present. All together there were six or eight watches to take account of the time. The fastest performance was that of Hadagal, the bay colt by Sir Gallahad III. Erne, by White Eagle. He did "his first eighth in :11 and his quarter in :22, and finished two lengths in front of Hug Again, chestnut filly by Stimulus-Affection, by Isidor. The next fastest was Dustina, bay filly by Pom-pey Elvina, by Polymelian, which, working with Tom B. Youngs Miss Young, chestnut filiy by Pennant Cherrycote, by Broomstick, won by a half length, the eighth in :11 and quarter in :22. Miss Young had been brought into the picture in order to fill out eight pairs for trials. It was expected that Sir Ten, bay colt by Sir Gallahad ni. Ten Lee, by Celt, bred very like Gallant Fox, would beat Hermie Boy, bay colt by Brown Bud Prodigy, by Light Brigade, but he was in a sulky mood and refused to do his best; The result was Hermie Roy beat him three lengths to the finish, first eighth in :ll-6, and quarter in :23. Sun Pomp, own sister to Osculator, bay filly by Pompey Some More, by Polymelian, finished a nose in front of Unkie Tom, bay colt by Hollister Lady Sylvia, by Chicle, in :11 and :23. The others showed their performances from :23 to :24. Altogether it was a decidedly good exhibition of speed. The horses as a whole are well broken and good gaited and smart. Both Mr. and Mrs. Wright expressed themselves as highly pleased with the results shown by the string thus far.
