NOELWOOD, away fast and suited by the going, was rated close to the pace, was slightly forced back when PRINCESS A. O. bore over entering the stretch, recovered quickly when straightened up for the final three-sixteenths and wore down PRINCESS A. O. in the final strides. The latter worked her way to the front on the inside before going a quarter, was steadied along to the stretch, where, after bearing over, she saved ground and held on well, but was not good enough. LADY DEAN had speed, but weakened after reaching the stretch. STOP GAP had no mishaps. ANADNAB was urged hard the final half mile. LIVE ONE raced wide when close up the first five-eighths, then quit badly and was eased up in the stretch. SCRAM, away slowly and far out of it for a half mile,, came through on the inside entering the stretch and weakened , after closing much ground, but outstayed TRANSFIX. The latter, outrun the first half mile, rapidly improved her position thereafter and was strongest of all in the late stages. LADY OF GRACE raced wide. MADGE DE had speed, lost ground and gave way in, the final three-sixteenths. ESCOMARIE quit, as did THREE BEES. RUSSELL, rank at the post and placed on the outside, broke very, slowly, raced wide and could not threaten the winner but showed a fine effort. JANE PACKARD could not get to the leaders. FLYING could not get to the leaders. RECTOR broke slowly. DEERWOOD was through early. PIROGUE, fractious at the post, got away, fast, but showed nothing. RITA ANN was as good as left. LONELL, away fast, had her speed, raced wide and, while no match for the winner, was best of the others. I PASS dropped out of it when racing wide into the turn, but outstayed OUR CHERRYCOTE. MANTA had good speed in the going, held on gamely under pressure and barely outfinished CEE TEE. The latter appeared to bear over at the far turn, was on the inside thereafter and withstood an extended drive, gamely. BIG BEAU began slowly and never threatened. MAD FRUMP labored in the going, was forced back when CEE TEE came over leaving the back stretch and, failing to respond to urging after reaching the stretch, was steadied along the final three-sixteenths. The latter, stoutly restrained until reaching the last three-eighths, came up boldly on the outside entering the stretch and withstood vigorous hand riding, but could not get up. EL PUMA, close up for three-quarters; dropped back suddenly at the stretch turn and was on the inside thereafter. BRUSH DOWN had speed, but quit badly.
