LAT0NIA TURF NOTES 4P E. M. Mays Hard Lines, Roscoe Gooses Baptism, Black Dust and Tea Topics, and Warble and Upheaval, owned by J. Heelan, have been added to the sale to be held here Wednesday. Horsemen here were shocked by the news of the death of Joseph E. Madden, who was reported to have shot himself in New York early this afternoon. He was a son of the late John E. Madden, who bred at the picturesque Hamburg Place near Lexington five Kentucky Derby winners and others of the outstanding horses of the last twenty-five years. Young Madden made his home in Oklahoma and is a brother of Edward Madden, who now resides at Hamburg Place. J. J. Greeiy, Jr., came in Sunday from Chicago with Dreamy Belle, Sally Irene, Beautiful Doll and Sunlow, and they will race out the remainder of the meeting here. Merrill Simmons, who shipped here from Fairmount Park two weeks ago, received Semester and Magnitude from Sportsmans Park.
