NO BROADCAST OF FUTURITY Pimlico Officials Unable to Make Arrangements for Proper Time on Air Channels. PIMLICO, Md., Oct. 31 Unable to get a nation-wide hook-up for its 0,000 Futurity, mile and one-sixteenth feature Saturday, secretary Matt Daiger of the Maryland Jockey Club has decided not to broadcast the running of the two-year-old feature. Since the advent of the radio, the Pimlico Futurity has been broadcast throughout the world. It held nation-wide interest along with the Preakness run here in the spring, and the failure of the men holding the right to the national hook-up to give the Maryland. Jockey Club the proper time to broadcast the race will cause many an American turfite to spend a listless Saturday afternoon. Whether the Preakness will be broadcast next May could not be learned today. However, secretary Daiger will make every effort to have the big three-year-old stakes put on the air. The 0,000 Kentucky Derby and other important American stakes are always broadcast over a nation-wide hook-up and some provision should be made for the spring and fall classics at this course, which has been doing business for more than fifty years.
