M. J. Winn, head of the American Turf Association. The device will operate with the regular mutuel tickets, pressure of a button or lever releasing one or more tickets and all bets will be recorded on a grand indicator. The machine will be automatically closed from the stewards stand when the horses are off. Colonel Winn plans to have the grand indicator erected in the main betting ring but next year may shift it to the infield. He also intends to have similar seller-calculators installed at Washington Park and Lincoln Fields in time for the fall meetings at those tracks. According to Colonel Winn, the machine will be American in design and construction. »
