In the string were Frank Or-mont, Bank Clerk, Monks Star, Busy Officer, Chica, Lutie Schuster, Pretty Monk, Cousin Ethel, Pretty Sis and three two-year-olds. Mr. and Mrs. W. Carr were arrivals from Newark, N. J. Mr. Carr is part owner of the Jersey Stable and with Mrs. Carr will remain until after the Derby. The Jersey establishment, in charge of C. H. Trotter, comprises ten head. They are Chu Chu, Cir-cean, Gabbo, Comstockery, Sandro, Sandle Tree, Pure Pact, Happy Play, Temple Hill and Dug In. A. E. Van Ree has arrived at Douglas Park with St. Jessica, Royal Rogue and Noahs Pride. The J. L. Cleveland stable, presided over by K. S. Cleveland and including Ricciardo, Darkest Hour, -p the Rip, Customer and Corduroy got ir from Le ngton. In addition to the twenty-three he is training for hims If and C. B. Shaffer, Jack Howard is looking after Major T. C. McDowells Would Dare, two-year-old chestnut son of Wildair and Olive Wood, and the only horse Major McDowell has in training. Jack Howard worked Advising Anna, the smart three-year-old filly in his stable, three-quarters in 1:20% Saturday morning. Former jockey Tommy Murray is training Delivered, Auf Wiedersehn, Flowery Lady and four two year-olds for W. F. Knebel-kamp. The juveniles are Fai: J u, ch. f, by For Fair — Jou Jou; Precocious, ch. g, by Midway— Fern Handly; Morning Fair, ch. t, by Midway — Mammon, and Quick Way, b. g, by Midway — Quick Money. Keene Daingerfield. Jr., nephew of Elizabeth Daingerfield, will race the two-year-olds Morvim and Battle Flag here. The former is a chestnut daughter of Morvich and Golden Mary an " the latter a brown gelding by American Flag — Beauty Contest. C. C. Van Meter reported that his good colt Mr. James was showing traces of lameness this morning and this accounted for his absence from the Prospect Purse. The Shandon Farms At Top and North Mill, the former named for the Derbv and Kentucky Oaks, and the latter, also eligible for the Derby, may contest the Exposition Park Derby. At Top went a mile in 1:44, handily, Sunday morning. Terry OMalley hurried from Tanforan, arriving just in time for the opener. S. S. Combs, who has his stable here, came down from Lexington and Marvin May was in the Cincinnati delegation. Derby period reservations at French Lick Springs Hotel are heavier than last year, according to Thomas D. Taggart, owner of that popular and adjacent hostelry. Mr. Taggart was on hand to see his Playdale perform in the Clark Handicap. Jockey S. Renick was suspended for five days for cutting across too sharply soon after the start and also for impeding horses during the stretch run in the second race Saturday. Nominations for the Washington Park and Lincoln Fields stakes closed Monday and C. W. Hay, general manager of Wash-. ington Park, reported excellent responses, The American Derby tops the Washington Park features. Mr. Hay is returning to Chi-i cago tonight. T. J. Pendergast and his large Derby party arrive tomorrow from Kansas City. Mr. Pendergasts daughter, Aileen, has a division of her stable at the Downs.
