I SPORTSMANS PARK NOTES I * t The veteran rider J. Meyer is going to try and stage a comeback here. He is now down to 112 pounds and expects to get as low as 109. His application has been approved by the stewards and he will ride j free lance. Racing secretary Robert Shelley received several requests Monday for stable room but he was forced to turn them down. The half-mile course is crowded to capacity. The public stable, trained by Harry Trot-sek consists of Frank Grossman, Hipaloma, son of Volta; Divine Lass, Terry Girl and the two-year-olds Full Fling, a brown colt, by Baffling — Deceitful; Taxi Dancer, a bay filly, by Harpenden — Missile; Lady Camilla, a bay filly, by Pot au Feu — Put and Take; Miss Blanche, a chestnut filly, by Peter Hastings — Midela and Higher Power, a bay gelding, by Dodge — Just in Time. H. Peake, who has made quite a reputation in Canada the past several years, was given a license by the stewards. He is under contract to S. Hesseltine and can make 110 pounds. The following trainers were approved by the stewards Monday: D. Franklin, H. L. Campbell, J. Neel, J. Meyers, G. Osborne, John Howard, J. Hel-fert, H. Hockenbury, W. R. Ware, L F. Wardy, T. Snow and J. J. Sirl. Jockey Stanley Cooper is here with his brother Harry, who has three horses quartered at the course. Harry will look after his engagements. F. Veysey, who is training a public stable has Plunging Sun, Muffler, Blessefield, Sir John K., Cinder and McLeay in his barn at Sportsmans Park. In addition to the horses Commuter, Ho-sain, Reconnoitre, Essare and Trieste, Fred Preece has the two-year-old Jolly Rambler. Francis Dunne has been distributing stake blanks for the Washington Park and Lincoln Fields meeting. The Washington Park stakes closed Monday night, May 1. Additions to the riding colony were M. Harrison, E. Gross, A. Hobart, H. Jones, J. H. Mills, F. Watrous, W. Stamper, H. Morgan, R. Reeves, J. Cartwright, R. Clemons, E. Goodman and E. Foster. All of the above were approved by the stewards Monday morning.
