| TORONTO TURF NOTES 1 ♦ s A. E. Alexandra, who formerly raced the old rogue Care Free, and at present has the old son of Colin serving as a lead pony for the Erindale Stable, submitted three names to the Jockey Club for his yearling by Oilman from the Trompe la Mort mare, Aversion. The trio sent to the registrar were Care Free n., Little Red and Homefree. The latter two were nicknames by which Care Free was known when in his heyday. None of the names were allowed and Alexandra, being a great admirer of the screen actor Edward G. Robinson, claimed the name Little Caesar, which was allowed. Charlie Mitchell disposed of the plater Sailor Maid to John Cassidy at private sale. The old daughter of Spanish Prince II. and Rauma is destined for a campaign on the Quebec circuit this season. Jockey Johnny Mulrooney, seriously injured in a fall at Winnipeg last summer that threatened to end his riding career, has fully recovered from his injuries and has joined forces with the Hussar Stable, which Jim McFarlin is training. Kennedy Hill, racing secretary at Stamford Park, was among the visitors at the Ontario Jockey Club course recently. Mr. Hill has been in communication with P. G. Demetre, the moving spirit in the Niagara Falls course, and reports that the minimum purse this year will be 00. He also states that Mr. Demetre was emphatic in his denial that the ownership of Stamford Park would pass into the hands of another Montreal group. J. A. Johnston had Fire Brigade, which he purchased a couple of months ago from Paul Ciceri, out on the track this morning along with Surf Bather, which he is handling for John Calder. In Arreage and Hob Nob, which Fritz Weiner wintered at the Harry Stuart farm, at Agincourt, are expected to be put back in training in a few days. C. E. Furry is expected at Woodbine within the next week or so. He has his Kings Plate candidate, Lady Hilda, in training at Stamford Park at the present time. It is doubtful if there is a Canadian rac« ing establishment better fortified with young stock than the Erindale Stable is at the present time at the White Farm on Kingston Road. They have six home-bred yearlings and nine foals. The foals are all fashionably bred and include full brothers to Bald Crest, Roche dOr, Star Crest and a half brother to Gay Parisian. There are only two filly foals at the farm, one by Gaffsman, from Letty Lind, a half sister to Circulet, and another youngster by Sweep-ster and Aversion. The stable of Mrs. G. McMacken, after a winter campaign at New Orleans, have been allotted stabling at Thorncliffe Park. The Old Mill riding academy has acquired the plater Single Step and is converting the gelded son of Single Foot into a hunter*
