I SPORTSMANS PARK NOTES I 4 - — ■ « J. C. Ellis, who has a large stable here in care of Odie Clelland, was a clubhouse visitor Saturday. He expects to remain several days before returning to Evansville to complete plans for the Dade Park meeting. Jockey R. Tilden, who had the mount on Essare in the seventh race Friday, was suspended for the remainder of the meeting by the stewards for rough riding. Jockey J. Meyer had his first mount of the season when he rode Harned Brothers Upsweep in the seventh race Saturday. R. S. Shelley, racing secretary at Sportsmans Park, left in an airplane Saturday for Calgary, Alberta, where he will officiate at the Western Canadian meetings. P. C. Gal-liger, who has been Shelleys assistant here, will assume the duties of racing secretary at this track. J. Tapley, working with R. J. Speers in the interests of western Canada tracks, shipped a carload of horses from Sportsmans Park Saturday morning for Calgary. In the shipment were Opossum, Elkhart, Phi Delta, Torchfire, Step Sister, Justa Hymn, Princess Black, Dick Bennet, Frank Light, Bright Chestnut, Little Buster, Politens Best, Bill Southam and My Folly. Tapley also expected to ship two carloads from Aurora Monday for the same racing point.
