I CHURCHILL DOWNS N0TES~j E. R. Bradleys Beefsteak was fired today J by Dr. N. E. Southland. He will be laid aside for late summer and fall racing. With the return or word from trainer W. Mulholland, Sarada, F. A. Griffiths American Derby candidate will be shipped to Washington Park. Mulholland may ship seven or eight others to that Homewood course from the East. Sarada has entirely 1 recovered from the illness that forced him 1 out of the Kentucky Derby. J The Louisiana Derby winner, Col. Hatfield, ; which will carry M. B. Cohens colors in the Illinois Derby at Aurora next Saturday was shipped to Washington Park Sunday night. He will be transferred from that course to Exposition Park about Thursday, according to trainer John Parmalee. In the same car were Spicson, L. M. Seversons representative for the same race, ! also the Audley Farms Trace Call, which , will be returned to training after reaching the Homewood track. Trace Call, son of the English Derby winner, Call Boy, devel- oped a cough on the eve of the Kentucky Derby. He has fully recovered and may be , ready for the American Derby on June 3. . Muslet, Momo, Cherry Time and Jesemola, j also owned by Cohen, others in the Sever-son string, and Miss Patience, which car- , ried the Audley silks in the Bashford Manor Stakes, also were in the car. Trainer D. E. Stewart has completed plans for transferring Warren Wrights big Calumet Stable string from here and Lexington to Washington Park. He has selected seventeen head and all get away for that Illinois track on Thursday. In the absence of J. F. Patterson, who is in the East, Jake Lowenstein looked after the saddling of the Audley Farms Miss Patience for the Bashford Manor Stakes. The E. A. Igleheart horses have been taken up and placed in training at Dade Park, according to word reaching here from that point. They include Bay Angon, Judge Direnzo, Iredell and others. Barn Swallow, favorite for the Kentucky Oaks to be renewed here Saturday, figured in a fast and impressive trial at the Downs this morning. Working on a slow track and around the "dogs," the crack Idle Hour Stock Farm filly went the Oaks route of one and one-eighth miles in 1:59, handily. Time for the quarter was :25M , half mile in :51%, three-quarters, 1:18%, and the mile in 1:45. H. P. Headleys Technique, also in preparation for the Oaks, went a half in :49%, landily. B. F. Clark arrived from Lexington with Sweet One, Whangdoodle and Lula Bay. J. H. Moody cancelled stalls for T. E. Muellers Shady Brook Farm horses at Washington Park and following a short rest here they will be shipped to Latonia. The horses of Albert Sabath, F. M. Grab-ner and Jake Lowenstein will be shipped to Washington Park Friday. Two cars will be required, Sabath having fourteen and Grab-ner and Lowenstein fifteen. Nomination blanks for the stakes to be run at the Latonia summer meeting, opening June 24, will be ready for distribution Monday. Larry Boganschutz, who is accepting stable registrations for the Washington Park meeting, hopes to receive all covering the stables shipping from here before he leaves for Chicago Thursday. Judge Charles F. Price leaves for Chicago Wednesday evening, and racing secretary W. H. Shelley plans to entrain Thursday. P. T. Chinn is shipping a car of horses from here to W. A. Buck at Tanforan and Terry OMalley hopes to secure several other stables for racing at that coast track.
