STALL GATE FOR TIMONIUM Waite Gate Most Suitable Because of Steeplechase Course in Infield Laurel Ready. BALTIMORE, Md., Aug. 5. The announcement in these columns that Timon-ium, the only one of Marylands eight tracks without stall gates, will install them, was verified today when officials at the Baltimore County course announced that a gate will be tried out Monday. As Timonium has a steeplechase course, it is understood that the Waite gate, which is light in construction, is the most suitable. The selection will be made Monday. Eddie Burke, general manager at Havre de Grace, which meeting opens September 18, is endeavoring to attract Equipoise, Gallant Sir and Indian runner for a handicap at this course. Woods Dickerson, track superintendent at Laurel, which opens October 3 for a twenty-five day meeting, has his plant spic and span. The track is reported to be one second faster than a year ago. Dick Pending is renovating the Marlboro plant for opening August 29. Motorists can now drive directly into the grounds and park before buying tickets.
